In the past years, Mazda has been coming up with a concept design series, which are basically composed of different concept cars. Some of the cars that belong to this series seek to delve into a motion-inspired slant that serves as the sculpting principle of its chassis. The themes selected by Mazda all have definite references to the Japanese culture. These concept cars of Mazda can be considered a brilliant move to promote the Japanese culture. Upon seeing the unique autos designed by Mazda, auto enthusiasts also get to delve upon the rich culture of Japan. Through concept cars, Mazda is able to give to the world vehicles that are undoubtedly Japanese.

The fourth car that will be released by Mazda is the Taiki concept coupe and will be formally introduced at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show. The main idea that came in the constitution of the Taiki is to “create a design that visually expresses the flow of air” and was highly influenced by the image of Hagoromo. The Hagoromo are the flowing robes that according to the Japanese legend, is the one that makes it possible for a celestial maiden to fly. These “flowing robes” are almost seen at the body section of the car that flows around the rear wheels.

The Mazda Taiki is especially made to be friendly to the environment. It comes only natural for the Mazda Taiki’s design seems to embody the air. Likewise, the exhaust emissions it releases must not contribute to air pollution. The Taiki is designed to be able to control its carbon emissions using the power that comes from the next-generation Renesis. The Renesis was introduced back in 2003 and was able to perform with considerable reduction to the fuel consumption and emissions. Since the release of the engine in Renesis, it has started to be given awards for its efficiency. Using the engine of Renesis while having a body of its own, the Mazda Taiki is surely to blow one’s mind.
